lvm2 partition listed as unknown

Post by psyncho » Sun Apr 17, 2011 11:32 pm

Hi,

I'm running partimage from a rescueCD. The partitions listed are:

sda1 ext2fs which is boot
sda1 extended
sda5 unknown (this is the logical lvm2 partition)
dm-0 ext3fs the actual lvm2 data
dm-1 swap

I'm concerned that the logical volume is listed as unknown. Will creating an image of this even work? Am I doing something wrong here? I read that partimage was compatible with lvm2 so I'm confused

Try the command

Code: Select all

fdisk -l
That's a lower case "L" not a one. What partitions does that show?
