I am trying to create a sysprepped WinXP image on to a USB hard drive.
I have created the system rescue bootable CD and can run partimage from /root. The USB HDD shows up in the 'Partition to save/restore' list as sdb1.
My problem (I think) is in specifying the path to the image file to create.
When I specify /dev/sdb1/<imagefilename> the program returns the error message "Cannot create temp file [/dev/sdb1/pif55e60a9.tmp]. Please check you have enough space and access rights". The USB HDD has 300GB free space.
My knowledge of linux commands and syntax is very limited. Is there something wrong with my syntax?
Here are messages about how to use partimage from a bootable CDRom / floppy disk.
