Hi, i am trying to do a static binary of partimage.

Ubunt 10.10 i386
installed the required library

I got everything working fine with ./configure
make and make install get through and partimage works fine.

but when i do ./configure --enable-all-static i get one error message:
Required for SSL Crypto library not found.

my guess is a static version of Crypto is missing, or not enables in opennSSL version I have. I compiles the latest OpenSSL but saw no signs of Crypto option.
Can anyone help?

Do you really need it?
SSL is only important if you use it on a nonsecure network - means backup over network.
So you can try to use --disable-ssl

Is SSL only important if you use it on a nonsecure network - means backup over network, right? In fact, i wasn't aware of the thing is like that.

sorry i havent been paying attention to this question for a while.
for the reccord. i did try disable ssl,
without success. so i resorted to using an earlier version which had a pre-compiled static b inary available (i dont have version now)
the goal achieved was to create an automatic backup/restore tool using ttylinux on a usb stick ans partimage.it was much easier for me to use the static one than compiling for ttylinux (plain old ignorance) the result is excellent if a bit crude. i wish there was more support for partimage, there is so much to learn
