Partimaged-Server on debian-edu-sarge

Post by bgrah » Thu Mar 10, 2005 11:41 am

Hello,
is there anyone who has installed the server on a debian-sarge system.
I thought that it will be better to ask here, before i damage my system.
On woody we have installed it with the binarys , but i dont know the way we have done it.
Maybe there is someone who can post a very short howto.
i have mounted /var/images to have place for images
now i have the files partimage and partimaged
how can i get it running -
create a user partimage ?

sorry for my bad english

Hi,

On the images server you need to start partimaged:

./partimaged -L

Then on the client start partimage:

partimage --nossl --server=<partimaged images server ip>

In the menu, select the partition, enter a filename (ie /var/images/test123), then select Save / Restore. Use default port of 4025. I'd avoid using SSL if possible.

Then just hit F5 to confirm and continue on.
