Error at restoring: source accidentally overwritten

Post by Judith69 » Tue Nov 15, 2011 12:39 am

I created my backup files on a USB disc, named sdb1.
Next day, as I wanted to restore the data I gave accidentally sdb1 (also the USB disc itself) as target partition.
After a few minutes partimage stopped with an error message about CRC problems.
As I wanted to restart partimage again I noticed that the USB Disc seems to be unformatted.

Can anyone give me a hint if I can restore my filesystem on the USB Disc?
Thx in advance...

Using sdb1 as the target may have corrupted your backup image. If you can mount the USB disc and see the filesystem, you may be alright. Your image files should be there. If the USB is unmountable, then you might have lost the backup.
