I have an interesting problem. I have i machine with an 80 gig drive with about 2.85 gigs used. It is an NTFS Windows XP machine. When I go to make the image, it makes an image that is 7.79 GIG! I ran chkdsk and it said something about something allotted wrong, so I thought it fixed it, but NOW it is even bigger, like 8.53 gig. It says the bitmap is 2.85 or whatever, but the image it makes is much bigger. Anyhelp?

No answers, only suggestions:
Run `defrag` before you make an image.
Turn "hibernation" off. (Otherwise XP will create a huge file called hibernation.sys, that does not need to be backed up. Like pagefile.sys, if it missing XP will recreate it on boot up.)
Shrink the partition before you make an image, using something like "Partition Magic"(R) or ntfsresize.
