Restoring image to larger partition resizes partition

Post by Guest » Tue Mar 01, 2005 10:42 pm

I have a 7G partition (FAT32) and used partimage to save this partition. After I restored the image to a 20G partition, I mount the drive and ran df only to report the original 7G partition, ran parted and reports 20G for that partition. Reboot back into Windows XP and it reports 7G. The only way around this is to resize the partition. Why do I have to do this? What can't partimage just restore the partition and not change the partition size? I think this is a great program but this part annoys me.
