howto read data from uncompressed backups

Post by waldauf » Sat Aug 01, 2009 4:17 pm

Hi,

I made uncompressed backup of my system (sda3) to sda7. Then I wanted change filesystem on partition sda8 but I made mistake and changed partition on sda3. So all my root was in hell. Unfortunately (this is the fanny part) I deleted backup from sda7, which was splited into 6 parts. I recovered all backups data but I got back only backup.00, backup.01, backup.02, backup.04. Thats all.

And my question is: Can I somehow read data from backups? Only what I need is /etc/ directory, thats all. Is there any solution?

Thanks for your answer,

waldauf

Hi waldauf,
It sounds like you borked your system pretty good. I don't think you can get it back (even just /etc).

Sorry,
feffer
