newbie question about restore

Postby winston » Sat Aug 29, 2009 2:19 pm

Hi,

I am trying to restore and ran into a problem. The first partimage screen seems to be stuck on "save partition." How do I check the "restore partition" box?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I didn't find anything in the FAQs.

Thanks.

Dan

The online manual explains this.

Maybe I wasn't clear what I was asking. The online manual says you can use command line or GUI. Being a recovering windows user, I was trying to use the GUI. I just entered "partimage" on the command line, followed the prompts, and all worked well for the saving of the partition. However, when I tried to restore, I could not get the "*" to move from "save" to "restore." I could not find anything in the manual regarding this. However, I should be able to use the command line version if I can figure out the details.

Stick with the gui version (actually called ncurses)
space key "selects"
tab key "moves"
F5 key goes to the next screen
So tab to "restore" then hit "space" the * will appear then.

The totally command line process is unnecessary unless you want to script it.

Thanks for the information. I knew it had to be something simple.
