Cloning on different hardware architecture

Post by salv236 » Mon Feb 01, 2010 9:01 pm

I come from a windows admin background.
I was impressed on the capabilities of this product.
I had a few questions:

1. Can I deploy an image on different
hardware I.E. Different HAL interfaces
CPU e.t.c

On the pro side, partimage copies on the block level, so it is pretty flexible.

On the con side, it is not under active development at this time. As a result, newer OS capabilities, file systems etc may not work as expected (or at all). I use partimage on my home system, but limit what I do with it.

If you are still interested after reading this and checking out the partimage docs, please experiment with it first. It may work for you, but remember this forum is not very busy either so there will be no one to hold your hand.
