Also, I read that if I use a NFS share, it can be run more faster. I've don't implemented it yet.

very slow network with Gb card

Postby GroVoiRi » Tue May 27, 2008 4:23 pm

Hi,
The symptoms are the same even I boot my server with an another SystemRescueCD with the same version.
Now my speed i 18,59 MiB/min and it's going down. Partimage say that I must wait more than 4 hours to restore a 5.4 GiB image.
On the server I have

Code: Select all

lspci|grep Eth
02:0c.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8169 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 10)

The server is on a NetGear GZ 116 switch an my client on a NetGear FS 116.
Is it my gigabit card that make the connections slow ? Thanks for answers

It was the network card that doesn't work well.
I change it and now, whaooo !
Time elapsed : 0h 9min 10 sec
speed : 603.6 MiB/Min
Size : 5.4 GiB to restore
