I have a Samba server.
I am attempting to create an image of the primary bootable partition of Win XP onto the samba server.
If I take the option to RESTORE... everything works. Not exactly as the directions but works on an image I moved manually from local hard drive to Samba share.
But if I choose HDA1 to backup I never can get the option to "Create New Image".
I get on screen "You asked for a restoration but no image was found" or something like that.
Messages about how to use partimage across a network (with the partimaged server, samba, nfs, ...)

It seems like you want to do a "remote" backup of a Windows partition to a samba server. Is that right? Probably the easiest way is to install the "partimaged" server app on your samba machine. Check the documentation about how to do that. AFAIK, partimage doesn't work directly with Samba. That's why you need the server app, and probably why partimage doesn't see your image across the network.
