Bug: fix BPB values in the FAT32 bootsector at restore

Post by hr » Mon Apr 09, 2007 9:55 am

After restoring a FAT32 partition to a new drive with a different C/H/S geometry
i get the bug: NTLDR is missing.

The bug is that partimage does not adjust the BPB values in the FAT32 bootsector to reflect the new C/H/S mapping of the new drive.

Background and workaround
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314057/EN-US/
The Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me boot code ignores the head value in the BPB and boots even when it is invalid.
